About us

About Hard Water Scout

Hard Water Scout helps Phoenix-area homeowners figure out which water system fits their home, what it usually costs, and who installs it. We started with the Phoenix metro and plan to add more cities.

We’re independent

We aren’t affiliated with any installer, brand or manufacturer we list. We don’t sell water systems, and we don’t send your information to installers. You contact them directly, on their own websites. No installer has paid to be listed or to change a listing.

Where our prices come from

Every price comes from an installer’s own website or their own ad, and we record the date we checked it. We show price ranges for common setups instead of quoting any one company, because no two homes are the same. When fewer than four installers publish a price for a setup, we say so instead of guessing. Read how we check prices.

When we get something wrong

Businesses move, close and change their prices. If you spot something that’s wrong or out of date, tell us. We check every report against a public source before we change a listing.
